Docs In Progress® is committed to advancing the work of documentary filmmaking talent by supporting and empowering independent filmmakers of all backgrounds who want to make films to inform the public and even bring about social change. As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Docs In Progress could not fulfill our mission without your support. Your tax-deductible contribution allows us to continue to provide quality programs for the independent documentary community and community outreach programs to educate and engage the general public around documentary.
HOW CAN YOUR DONATION HELP?
Thirty donations of $25 could offset costs of our monthly free Documentary Roundtables which bring together filmmakers of all experience levels to share and learn from each other and from guest experts.
Fifteen donations of $50 could support a scholarship to our youth summer camp, allowing a middle school student whose family would otherwise be unable to afford the fees to give their child the tools to make documentary films in a fun learning environment.
Five donations of $100 allow our staff to take the time to research and share documentary filmmaking resources throughout the year with our community through our website, quarterly e-newsletters, and social media.
Ten donations of $250 could bring the Community Stories Festival back to the AFI Theatre in 2014. Imagine the joy of seeing first-time filmmakers of all ages see and share their work on one of the the best movie screens in the area. It’s a magical experience.
One donation of $500 could cover the costs associated with programming a single work-in-progress screening. Going into its 10th year, this program has benefitted hundreds of filmmakers — none of whom has ever had to pay an application fee. Additionally, this event has always been pay-what-you-can for audiences. We want to keep it that way.
One donation of $1,000 could support two scholarships to our production classes, empowering two aspiring filmmakers who would not otherwise be able to afford to learn the craft of documentary filmmaking.
