KEY SESSIONS
Download the updated schedule.
Interactive Storytelling Exercise: Before you even think about video, you need to be able to convey the story of your organization concisely and directly. A professional storyteller from SpeakEasy DC will lead participants in an interactive verbal storytelling exercise designed to help you hone the synopsis for your video communications.
Show, Don’t Tell: Take a lesson from The Artist and think about your video as a silent movie. How can you show what a difference your organization is making rather than relying only on interviews? Filmmakers and nonprofits will tell you how in this panel session.
Preaching to the Choir or Reaching the Lost Masses? Not every video can be an all-purpose video to suit every audience. It is essential to identify your key audience is and what your call to action is. This panel and interactive session will help you identify who you are really trying to reach and what you want them to think or do once you reach them?
Speed Networking with Filmmakers: This is an opportunity for organizations to network with video production companies and filmmaker freelancers who may be able to help you make your video a reality. Note that the Speed Networking Program is full for filmmakers. If you wish to be added to a waiting list, please send an e-mail to contactATdocsinprogressDOTorg
Film Screening: Following the conference, there will be an evening screening of a documentary work-in-progress on a social issue. While this event will be open to the broader public, all conference attendees are welcome to attend as part of their conference registration.
