Docs In Progress returns to the Our City Film Festival with a special work-in-progress screening. We are proud to support a festival which showcases works produced by and about the city of Washington DC beyond the monuments and politics.
This is an opportunity to provide feedback on story and character development to a documentary filmmaker presenting a not-quite-finished version of a film while you also support the festival’s sponsor Yachad, a nonprofit dedicated to affordable housing and community development in Washington DC.
WHAT’S SCREENING?
FLY BY LIGHT (90 minute rough cut)
by Ellie Walton
In the summer of 2011, fifteen high school students from diverse neighborhoods across Washington DC were uprooted from the hustle of inner-city life to beautiful mountain vistas and springs of West Virginia. For many of the teenagers, this was their first time leaving the concrete confines of the city. Follow them on this transformational journey.
Tickets are $10 if purchased online in advance. $12 at the door. This is NOT a suggested donation. Since the festival is very popular, we strongly recommend you get your ticket in advance through the Our City Film Festival website.
