		<description>Well said, Fay, and I think you&#039;re right on the mark.  Film school is a very personal decision.  There&#039;s no right way or wrong way.  I got a communications degree and went on to produce a documentary after spending many years as a television news journalist.  When I was making the transition from news reporter to filmmaker, I signed up for a two week course with the Maine Television and Film Workshops which helped &quot;fill the gaps&quot; in my experience.  I absolutely love that technology is opening up opportunities for the masses to reveal stories that would otherwise never be told.  The one aspect that concerns me is the ethical side of filmmaking.  Every little decision made during the shooting and editing process creates an impression for the viewer and filmmakers must understand the power of those nuances.   But truthfully, I&#039;ll take multiple perspectives over perfection any day. ;)  Thanks again, Fay, for your very thoughtful and well written article.  And thanks to Docs in Progress for all you do for the filmmaking community.</description>
